Simple, Sassy & Sensational Cup of Tea

When I make cards, I think about the person I am sending the card to. I have friends who love simple clean lines, I have friends who like cards that have a little bit of sass to them. And then I have those friends who love lots of layers, details and a wow factor.

I want to share my Simply, Sassy & Sensational card series with you. This installment features the Cup of Tea stamp set and the Teacup Dies. Of course, I had to feature the Tea Boutique Designer Series Paper because quite frankly it is stunning paper.

Using the Crushed Curry, Parakeet Party, Sweet Sorbet and Tahitian Tide Classic Ink colors that are some of the colors used in the Tea Boutique DSP was my starting point.

For the Simple Card I used a piece of Crushed Curry Cardstock for my card base. It is 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored @ 4 1/4". Next, I cut a piece of Basic White Cardstock 4" x 5 1/4" for my top layer on my card. Using the Parakeet Party ink, I stamped the leaf image two times onto the left side of the Basic White card layer. I then used the Sweet Sorbet ink I stamped the leaf image in the between the Parakeet Party images. I then used the Tahitian Tide ink to stamp the teacup image onto the card front near the leaf images. Using the Parakeet Party ink, I stamped the stems image above the teacup image. I stamped the floral image using Crushed Curry ink above the stems image. Using Memento Tuxedo Black, I stamped the Let's Get Together Soon sentiment on the top right corner.

Finally, I used two Decorative Matte Dots to fill the two larger flowers.

My Sassy version is similar to the Simple version with a few additions and techniques. This time I used a second piece of Basic White cardstock 4" x 5 1/4", I stamped all of the same images using the same colors. I layered the first piece of Basic White cardstock onto the Crushed Curry cardstock. I cut 3 pieces of the Tea Boutique DSP, 1 1/4" x 4" I used the Crushed Curry design and the Parakeet Party striped design. I trimmed the DSP pieces on one end to a point as shown in photo. I used the Teacup Dies to cut out the stamped images and scissors to trim the sentiment. I layered the DSP pieces on to the card base using Stampin' Seal. Onto that I layered the leaf images onto the DSP. Using the Stampin' Dimensionals I placed the Teacup image onto the card front. Next, I layered the stem images using Stampin' Seal, above the teacup as well as the small flowers and the sentiment. I used the Mini Stampin' Dimensionals I added the two larger flowers. Finally, I added two of the Matte Decorative Dots to the large flowers.

And now let's make it Sensational!!!!! Emboss the Basic White cardstock Using the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder and the Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine. Stamp the images the same as in the Simple and Sassy cards, adding a Sweet Sorbet floral image as well. Also using a scrap of Garden Green cardstock cut the detailed teacup die to layer on the teacup. Using the Tuxedo Black Stamp the sentiment onto a 1 1/4" x 1" piece of Basic White cardstock. Also, using the Tuxedo Black stamp the sentiment It's Time for Tea onto a scrap of Crumb Cake cardstock. Using the coordinating die cut the tag. Staple an inch of Baker's Twine to the Crumb Cake tag. Using a blending brush or a sponge add ink to the embossed image. Layer the Embossed piece of cardstock to the card base. Cut a 4" x 2" piece of the Tea Boutique DSP, I used the Crushed Curry design. Trim the end into a point. Layer the DSP piece onto the embossed piece. Next layer the leaf images onto the card front. Using your favorite glue adhere the Garden Green teacup die onto the Teacup. Next using the Stampin' Dimensionals add the Teacup to the card front. Layer the stem image and the flowers the same as in the Simple and Sassy cards. Add some Red and Yellow Matte Decorative Dots to the flowers and stems as shown in photo.
