A few weeks ago, I shared a post on Facebook on my business page, My Pastor's Wife Designs on October 12. I said I would share later what the photos reminded me of and encouraged you to guess. So far, no one has guessed what the story is and that is great, I love that you shared your thoughts.
When my youngest son was growing up, he struggled with reading. Turns out he has dyslexia and as many of you know it can make reading a challenge. I found him I book I had read when I was young and thought he might enjoy it. The book is My Side of the Mountain by Jean Craighead George. He devoured this book and read it multiple times. The premise of the story is about a boy who decides he hates living with his family in a very small apartment and he wants to survive and he lives inside of a hollowed-out tree. Of course, there is a lot more to the story and you can click on the link provided below if you would like to learn more about the story. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Side_of_the_Mountain I found out years later he was trying to figure out how he could do the same thing Sam had done. I am so thankful we didn't live within walking distance of a forest because there is no doubt in my mind that he would have attempted it.
While visiting the Redwoods a few weeks ago I found a favorite tree of mine and this story came to my mind. I do believe if Perry had access to this tree as a young boy he too would have attempted to live in it.
When I walked down inside, yes inside of this tree it was the size of a small room. I could probably survive in it for a few days. But I don't know that it would be all that comfortable.
